There are several ways how you can get to Latvia/Sigulda:

  • By Air
    Riga International Airport is connected to most major airports, check their website for further details. Airport is located about 5km from Riga center. You can get to Riga by taxi (be aware of the crooks, inquire about the price before taking the ride) or by bus no. 22. There are many car rental services, Rentalcars.com seems to offer especially good rental prices. There are two short-term car rental services in Riga, which you can use by installing an app in your smartphone: CarGuru and CityBee. Most convenient way to get from Riga to Sigulda is by car or by train from the Central Station, you can find train schedules here. The Congress venue and many hotels are just a few minutes walk from Sigulda Train Station.
  • By Car
    Best option is to plan your trip using Google Maps or navigation software, such as Waze. As a general rule, in order to get to Latvia from Central Europe, you should take route E67 (aka Via Baltica), which will take you to Latvia through Warsaw (Poland) and Kaunas (Lithuania). When you finally get to Latvia, road E77 will take you to Sigulda, or simply pay attention to road-signs (or even better – use a navigation app).
  • By Ferry
    You can travel to Liepāja from Travemünde (Germany) and to Ventspils from Nynäshamn (Sweden) by Stena Line. Liepāja is located approximately 270km from Sigulda (about 3:30-4:00h drive time). There is also a ferry line from Stockholm to Riga operated by Tallink.
  • By Bus
    Apparently it is possible to get to Riga from Berlin, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Minsk, St. Petersburg, Tallin, Šiauliai, Vilnius, Klaipėda, Tartu. Please check this page for further information.
